Jedward's Big Adventure- Details

Posted on January 25, 2012 at 6:05 AM

Jedward are on a mission to become the UK’s best tour guides in this brand new, action-packed CBBC show.

In each episode, the larger-than-life pair will be given just 24 hours to learn from the experts everything there is to know about a World Heritage Site. They will be joined by celebrity guest stars to see who can convey the most correct facts to a group of tourists and be crowned the best tour guides.

On Monday the lively Irish brothers are joined by Joe Swash and Brian Dowling as they visit The Tower of London to meet the Beefeaters.

Edward dresses up as Anne Boleyn while Joe attempts to behead ‘her’, Brian and John try to become Monkeys to illustrate the zoo that was once on the site, and Joe tries his hand at becoming a Raven and attempts to fly around the tower.

Who will win and be crowned the best tour guides? The pressure is on as the teams try to avoid being presented with the very messy forfeit that will befall the losers!

On Tuesday the spikey-haired pair are heading to Blaenavon in Wales with Richard Wisker and Ceallech Spellman in a fast-paced journey of discovery to uncover more about the Industrial Revolution.

John and Edward head 90 metres under the ground to experience the darkness of a coalmine and recreate a working ironworks with the help of lots of smoke – as only they can.

The winning team will be rewarded with a special lesson in how to drive a steam train, whilst the losers will have to eat a bowl of grotty gruel. Who will win and be crowned the best tour guides?

In Wednesday’s show wannabe tour guides John and Edward are joined by Rav Wilding and Sian and Jessica from the girl band Parade, as they head to the Jurassic Coast to unearth fascinating facts about the dinosaurs that lived there 65m years ago.

They blow up a quarry in an attempt to find fossilised dinosaur footprints, but find they have used too much dynamite and take a group of tourists to a car scrap yard to slice a vehicle in half to demonstrate the power of the Pliosaur’s bite.

John and Rav attempt to show how sedimentary rocks trapped dinosaurs to create fossils, with John being gunged on the beach by layers of beans, porridge and flour. Meanwhile, Edward and the girls from Parade invent a routine called the Fossilisation dance to illustrate how fossils were made.

The winning team will be rewarded with a ride on a jet speedboat, while the losers will be made to go for an ice-cold swim in the sea. Who will win and be crowned the best tour guide?

On Thursday, terrific twosome Jedward are back on another Big Adventure and are joined in Edinburgh by Naomi Wilkinson and Chris Rankin from Harry Potter, to experience all things medieval and spooky.

The teams learn about body snatching, the plague and the pirates imprisoned in the castle and are allowed to give the order to fire the one o’clock gun – but will they manage to set it off at the right time?

John makes Naomi get into a coffin to illustrate how people were sometimes buried with a bell - just in case they were still alive - and Edward dresses up as a plague victim and has a huge pus-filled boil that needs to be treated by his doctor, Chris.

Who will win and be crowned the best tour guides, and who will be forced to carry out a forfeit?

On Friday the pair are joined by Andy Akinwolere and Johny Pitts as they head to Hadrian’s Wall to find out more about Roman Britain.

The teams meet archaeologists who help them try to dig up the past, and they discover that the Romans were very sophisticated and even had baths and toilets – though much to Jedward’s surprise these were shared experiences.

Who will win and be crowned the best tour guides, and who will be forced to carry out the forfeit and take a cold bath in the frigidarium? Brrrrrrr!
